Who: Artists and scholars with gather to honor the Nobel Prize-winning playwright, poet, and novelist Samuel Beckett. The evening will begin with a panel discussion featuring Dr. Marjorie Perloff, Stanford University Professor Emeritus and noted Beckett scholar, and Colm Toibin, acclaimed Irish author. A.C.T. Artistic Director Carey Perloff will moderate the panel. Immediately following will be a performance of selections from Beckett’s work by renowned Bay Area actors.

What else: In honor of this occasion, Grove-Atlantic Press is releasing the Grove Centenary Editions of Samuel Beckett: an extraordinary four-volume hardcover collection of the author's novels, plays, stories, poems, and criticism that brings together nearly every word Beckett published during his lifetime. Copies of the set will be available for sale at the Geary Theater during the event, which Grove-Atlantic Press is co-sponsoring.

Tickets: This is a non-ticketed event with general admission seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free.
