San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle - SFBATCC
A non-profit organization founded 1978. 21 professional Bay Area critics; gives awards each year in dramas and musicals categories.

Purposes Promote growth and recognition of Bay Area theatre; promote continuing fellowship among its members; advance professionalism of theatre criticism; encourage research, discussion and study of theatre problems and techniques; strengthen and maintain highest standards of members' service and ethical conduct; exchange ideas and experiences that enhance and improve membership professional knowledge; solicit gifts and grants to further SFBATCC goals; reward excellence in all phases of theatrical production through annual awards.

Awards Members nominate from all productions they have collectively seen; after a final vote these awards acknowledge each theatre category for outstanding performance and/or achievement. There are also special awards recognizing continuing efforts to involve young people in live theatre through their community outreach programs, as well as continuing excellence in a theatrical career.
