First Live North American Sudoku Tournament Featured at
Exploratorium Puzzle Party Weekend
June 3 and 4, 2006

Bend your brain and scope out your solving prowess in this weekend-long
celebration of all things puzzling. Learn how puzzle masters create
mind-melding puzzles, try solving ancient Chinese wooden puzzles, bend your
brain around those tricky word puzzles, and perhaps most thrilling of all
for certain Sudoku addicts, enter the First Live North American Sudoku
Tournament – organized by the Exploratorium. There’s something for
everyone, from the youngest puzzle neophyte to the most wizened sage. All
events are included in the price of admission.

Puzzles have much to teach in the realm of logic, pattern recognition, and
problem solving – the core skills of scientific and mathematical
investigation.

Meet the Mythbusters!
Saturday, June 24, 1pm
Ever wondered whether using a cell phone near a gas station could start a
fire? Talk to the people who can set your mind at ease at this
Exploratorium program that introduces the public to Adam Savage and Jamie
Hyneman, the dynamic duo who debunk science myths on the Discovery Channel
show Mythbusters. Adam and Jamie will help young minds explore science
through hands-on activities. They'll also sign copies of their new book,
Mythbusters: Dont Try This at Home! This event is included in the price of
admission to the Exploratorium.
