In this series, hosted by critic and KPFA radio host Derk Richardson, well-known musicians and composers talk about their work through a combination of lecture, dialogue, performance and audience question-and-answer sessions.

Henry Kaiser opens the season, focusing on his most recent collaboration with Werner Herzog composing the soundtrack for Encounters at the End of the World,” a documentary shot entirely in Antarctica, which will be released at the end of 2007. He also composed the soundtrack for Grizzly Man. Kaiser will discuss and give a live demonstration of improvised film scoring, assisted by Danielle DeGruttola on the cello.
